Finding more Blogs

Today I found more blogs to add to my list. The sad thing is, I should have had these earlier because they are FAMILY! I went to Kimberly's blog after she reminded me of it and Kristie had made a comment on it, which then led me to her TWO blogs. I have successfully spent my day (from one Corban nap to another) reading other people's blogs. This is what I was afraid of by joining the blogging world. But I will say, I now know what is going on in my sibling's lives, since they are blogging rather than emailing or calling. I guess everything does have a selling point and and a reason for wanting to return it. With blogging, I think I just need to keep it in check so it doesn't get out of hand and remember my reason for starting this in the first place.

Jared, Corban, and I are visiting family in Utah. There was an open invitation sent out a couple of months ago by Jacqui to come for the 4th. At the time we were thinking this would be a perfect summer vacation because we couldn't do much else to see family (we had to miss the first Lake Powell trip). Luckily I am not the one running the business because with the opening of the 6th store, I don't think I could have left it. Jared has done an exceptional job in getting things running smoothly these past 3 weeks, in addition to having Wilson (who also helped to get things running smoothly) still in San Diego to hold down the fort. Needless to say, I continue to find more and more reasons for loving me new life. It truly is better than I was imagining back in the day when I was answering the question, "What would be your ideal job?" Maybe it is that I have the greatest husband and by far the cutest baby in the world. Anyway, the parents (Colleen and Curtis) and Lisa have joined us at the Scott's home, and we will spend some time with Kimberly, Dave, and baby and Patrick, Kristie and the boys.

Today we started our 4th of July celebration by watching the neighborhood parade. Ashley and Olivia were in the parade with the swim team. Just about every float, car, bike that went by threw candy. We just happened to have no kids to run for it since they were in the parade. I gladly took over the responsibility all in the name of "neighborhood cleanliness". I got way more than I needed and on the walk up to the pavillion for breakfast, Jared and Curtis were "street cleaning", picking up mostly trash, but there was also a lot of good candy left.

Breakfast was hardly worth talking about. The food, anyway. Way too much sugar and VERY little nutrition. We did have a nice time sitting and talking on the grass. Corban had his yummy breakfast, with hopes that I had enough nutrition to feed the both of us, then he was much more enjoyable. We played a little before he decided to take a little snooze. This is one of my favorite things to do when playing with him because it can get him to laugh. I "bite" his cheek while my chin goes into his neck and chest. After his nap we also tried the swimming thing, which didn't work out very well. He didn't like the cold water, I think. But we did enjoy "The Little Mermaid" swim diaper that Kim gave us. Too bad it was pretty much wasted.

This was the first time Lisa met baby Corban. This is also the first I have seen the much-talked-about hairstyle she has created while in beauty school. I really do like it- the length especially.
Yesterday was also a great day. We arose early in the morning to go hiking- Jared, Corban, me, Colleen, Curtis, and Jeff. We first hiked to a waterfall, which took all of 10 minutes, but could hike no further unless we wanted to face trecherous conditions (not wise with a baby). So we tried another location and hiked around a beautiful lake, which we didn't know was there. I really do love the scenery of Utah- it makes me want to live here again. I was quickly reminded why I don't want to live here when I went to the festivities this morning. I really don't know how to put it into words, it is more a feeling I get when I am around a lot of people from Utah (clarify, Salt Lake and St. George- I don't want to blanket-statement the entire state). Just doesn't feel the same as San Diego.

After hiking I then joined Jacqui on her jaunt to the gym, Tree House Athletic Club. If I just happened to live in Utah, close to Sandy, and had $70 a month to splurge on fitness (that is, if they wouldn't hire me to instruct), then this is the gym I would choose. It is highly desirable! Zumba was the class she took me to. WOW! Was that a fun class. Definitely more dancing than I have ever done in a class and a lot more fun. The class alone would be worth joining the gym. It is a cheap way of getting a dance class, with another amenities attached. Jacqui says she loves the childcare, too. I have yet to use L.A. Fitness's childcare because I don't trust it.

I think it is time for me to move on from blogging for the day. I will go see what all the commotion is upstairs (they all just left me downstairs after their movie ended).
