I am now a blogger. I thought I wouldn't join this world of blogging because of not wanting to spend my day sitting at the computer. Golden Spoon work already keeps me on the computer enough.
What pushed me into blogging?
I just came from Book Club with some sisters from my ward. They were discussing the book "21 Days Closer to Christ". I hadn't read the book but was hoping to gain from the insight of those who had. One of the main discussion points was about journal writing and how beneficial this can be in our lives as it relates to our spiritual experiences. I have a personal testimony of this, as I use to be good at journal writing when I was single and used it as a way to see the way my prayers were answered. I am constantly trying to get myself back into journal writing and I have many "started" entries to prove it. One of the problems may be that hand writing takes so long. If that is the problem, then blogging should solve it :) My block with just typing my journal is that it seemed so impersonal and then I just have these papers of my life story. Well, Monica Papin had a solution to that- publish your blog on blurb.com and the book will be sent out to you, bound and professional looking. Perfect!
So this is my plan.
I will blog for the next year, trying for everyday, but will be satisfied with weekly. This isn't just about me, but what is going on in the family...from my point of view. I would like it to be personal in that I share spiritual happenings and things for which I am grateful. My intent is not for anyone outside of Jared and me to read it or post to it because I want to feel completely comfortable sharing anything and everything that comes to mind.
I look forward to this new plan and am very hopeful that it satisfies my journaling desires, yet doesn't detract from what is most important in my life. I still don't want to spend my day at a computer, but hope to give hours of attention to Corban and Jared, prepare healthy meals for our family daily, keep up on the daily house work, frequent the gym or other means of getting exercise, and definitely make time to study the gospel- really study the gospel. Hopefully my posts reflect these priorities.
